V6 2003 Ford Explorer transmission slipping overdrive kicking on and off
Asked by GuruW5SYG Apr 19, 2018 at 06:18 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer Limited V6
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Transmission slips at random
overdrive kicks on and off at
random
1 Answer
My 2003 V6 was not slipping but the OD light would come on and go out at random. Mechanic told me to bring it to him when light was on and do not turn off the engine. Said it was some external solenoid or whatever on the transmission and had me back on the road in 45 minutes. But if it is also slipping, it's going to be internal.
